Rear Admiral D.E. Barbey
Read Admiral D.E. Barbey was the Commanding Officer of the Seventh Amphibious Force of the Seventh Fleet, U.S. Navy from its establishment in October 1942. In May 1944 he was based in the New Zealand Insurance Co. Building in Brisbane, in southern Queensland. Rear Admiral Barbey remained as Commanding Officer until July 1944.
