15TH SUPPLY SQUADRON
15TH AIR DEPOT GROUP, VASAC, USAAF
IN AUSTRALIA DURING WW2
The 15th Supply Squadron was attached to the 15th Air Depot Group which was based at Depot Two, Fifth Air Service Area Command (VASAC) at Mount Louisa, near Garbutt Field in Townsville, Queensland. Depot Two (or Depot #2) was also known as the Townsville Air Depot (TAD). It was a very large depot responsible for assembling, modifying, overhauling and carrying out major repairs on aircraft for the 5th Air Force.
