NOW MUSEUMS IN THE USA
Of the US Navy submarines which were based in or operated out of Australia during WWII quite a few still exist as museum ships.
Brisbane boats
USS Bowfin SS-287. Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
USS Drum SS-287. Mobile, Alabama
USS Silversides SS-236. Muskegon, Michigan
Fremantle boats
USS Cavalla SS-244. Galveston, Texas
USS Cobia SS-245. Manitowoc, Wisconsin
US Cod SS-224. Cleveland, Ohio
USS Pampanito SS-383. San Francisco, California
USS Batfish SS-310. Muskogee, Oklahoma
USS Becuna SS-319. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
USS Croaker SS-246. Buffalo, New York
Bonus museum ship, one of the few remaining examples of the famous US liberty cargo ships - the SS Jeremiah O'Brien, which made several trips to Australia, is berthed in San Francisco.
