580TH ORDNANCE AMMUNITION COMPANY

IN AUSTRALIA DURING WW2

The 580th Ordnance Ammunition Company was an African-American unit based at Calvert Ordnance Depot near Rosewood in southern Queensland during WW2. They went on to later serve in Manila.

The October 1943 Military Phone book for Brisbane shows the following entries:-
