391ST ENGINEERS, US ARMY

A Detachment of the 391st Engineers were located in the Engineer Depot at Cannon Hill in Brisbane, Queensland during WW2.
The October 1943 Military Telephone Directory for Brisbane describes this depot as follows:-

Capt. Little
Harry Melville Thompson Jr., of 230 Stone Lake Drive, Greenville, USA , aged 79 years, died on 17 June 2002, at the Greenville Memorial Medical Center. He graduated from Clemson University, Class of 1943, with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Mr. Thompson served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later became commanding officer of the 391st Engineers, retiring as a Lt. Colonel after 20 years. Was he the CO of the 391st Engineers here at Cannon Hill?
