Subject:   "G" for George

My father is ex RAAF.  He is aware that Peter Isaacson flew "G" around 1941/42 and in late 43 flew it back to Australia.  This was followed by a round Australia tour.

Apparently a daughter of Jan Goulevitch contacted author Peter Firkins about a copy of a book about "G" many years ago called "Strike and Return - 460 History".

One person who may have the last few copies of "Strike and Return" is John Burridge Military Antiques, 91 Shenton Road, Swanbourne, WA 6010.

Also, the War Museum in Canberra where "G" is on display, had a written history of "G" available.  We believe that the museum has organised for this to be updated.   You will have to check whether the update is now available or if it's still at the printers.

Hope this is of some help,

Merry Christmas

Thanks for your message of 1/1/97 regarding Philip Castle's article.

Dad has a question regarding info from Philip.

Could a Flight Sergeant be a DFC? While it's possible that W. Rose was later awarded the DFC, Dad's of the belief that a DFC was awarded to officers and the DFM to lower ranks.
