FORCED LANDING OF P-40E
KITTYHAWK
AT PEARCE AIRFIELD, WA
ON 8 JULY 1942
On 8 July 1942, P-40E Kittyhawk A29-49 of 77 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Sergeant Lloyd Ronald Thomas Ballard (411728), carried out a successful forced landing at Pearce Airfield after loss of oil pressure and high oil temperature.
