CRASH OF P-40E KITTYHAWK
AT UPPER SWAN AIRFIELD, WA
ON 22 MAY 1942
On 22 May 1942, P-40E Kittyhawk A29-55 of 77 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Flying Officer R. C. Kimpton, struck a small tree guard whilst moving off the runway at Upper Swan Airfield in Western Australia. The incident damaged the three blades of the airscrew.
