CRASH LANDING OF A WIRRAWAY
1 MILE SOUTH OF MILDURA AIRFIELD, VIC
ON 25 FEBRUARY 1945

At approximately 1855 hours on 25 February 1945, Wirraway A20-13 of 2 Operational Training Unit crash landed with its wheels up immediately after take off at Mildura Airfield, Victoria due to engine failure during a night flying test. The pilot Flying Officer Allen Cecil Beckwith (419154) and his passenger A.C.1 Jack James Crellin (138504) were both uninjured.
