P-40 KITTYHAWK OVERSHOT RUNWAY
ON TAKEOFF AT MILDURA AIRFIELD, VIC
ON 25 FEBRUARY 1945

On 25 February 1945, P-40 Kittyhawk A29-97 (#41-35970) piloted by Alexander Florance Soutar (433364) of 2 Operational Training Unit overshot the runway at Mildura Airfield, Victoria, and ran through the boundary fence when the engine failed on takeoff.
