CRASH OF A P-40 KITTYHAWK
AT MILDURA AIRFIELD, VIC
ON 13 MARCH 1945
P-40 Kittyhawk A29-171, #42-100185, piloted by Flight Sergeant Edward Irwin Lorne Baker (433765) of 2 Operational Training Unit crash landed at Mildura Airfield on 13 March 1945. The aircraft swung on landing and was overcorrected due to the pilot's lack of experience.

P-40 Kittyhawk A29-171 was involved in an earlier accident at Essendon Airfield on 11 January 1945.
P-40 Kittyhawk A29-171 was authorised for Writeoff on 19 November 1946.
