FORCED LANDING OF A P-40K
KITTYHAWK
ABOUT 2 MILES WEST OF MILDURA, VIC
ON 27 APRIL 1945
At approximately 1150 hours on 27 April 1945, P-40K Kittyhawk A29-164 (#42-10172) made a wheels up landing about 2 miles west of Mildura Airfield in Victoria after the aircraft's oil temperature rose and the oil pressure dropped during a test flight. The pilot Pilot Officer Raymond David Dyson (406234) of 2 Operational Training Unit was uninjured in the forced landing.

The wreckage of A29-164 was received at 1 CRD ex 2 OTU on 3 September 1945.
