CRASH OF AN OXFORD
INTO BAY 2 MILES SW OF POINT COOK, VIC
ON 11 MAY 1942
At approximately 1430 hours E.S.T. on 11 May 1942, Oxford BF887 of No. 1 Service Flying Training School, 1 SFTS, went out of control and dived into the bay at a location approximately 2 miles south west of Point Cook. The crew all perished as follows:-
P/O Harold Keith Wishart Jolly (401381) - killed
LAC Daniel Joseph Francis Ganley (409536) - missing believed killed
LAC John Essery King (416394) - missing believed killed
