GROUND ACCIDENT INVOLVING A
P-38 LIGHTNING
AT AMBERLEY AIRFIELD, QLD
ON 5 NOVEMBER 1942
On 5 November 1942, Lt Erickson of the 17th Fighter Squadron (Provisional) taxied his P-38 Lightning into an oil drum at Amberley Airfield in south east Queensland damaging his left propeller.
