CRASH LANDING OF A B-26 MARAUDER
AT GARBUTT AIRFIELD, TOWNSVILLE, QLD
ON 3 JUNE 1942

B-26 Marauder #40-1517 crash landed at Garbutt Airfield in Townsville, north Queensland at 12:30 hours on 3 June 1942 when the nose gear failed to lock in the down position. The pilot was 1st Lieutenant Willis G. Bench O-420822. There were no injuries.
