CRASH LANDING OF A P-40E
WARHAWK
AT ARCHERFIELD AIRFIELD, QLD
ON 25 FEBRUARY 1942
On 25 February 1942, USAAF P-40E-1 Warhawk piloted by 2nd Lieutenant R. L. Scott applied his brakes too hard and too soon on landing at Archerfield Airfield and the aircraft tipped over on its nose. The pilot was uninjured. The aircraft was a write-off.
