CRASH LANDING OF A CATALINA
AT BOWEN, QLD
ON 19 JANUARY 1945
On 19 January 1945, RAAF Catalina A24-92 was damaged when it crash landed at Bowen in Queensland. It was on a ferry flight from 2 Flying Boat Repair Depot at Rathmines in New South Wales to 111 Air-sea Rescue Flight. Flight Lieutenant W.H. Cox of 20 Squadron RAAF was injured when his left forearm was severed by a propellor.
