On 25 May 1942, Tiger Moth A17-469 (DHA886) of 34 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Pilot Officer Roy Francis Goon (251686), crashed at Birdum in the Northern Territory.

Casualty Notification for "P" File
The above Casualty Notification on Roy Goon's file is dated 23 May 1942, which differs from the date of 25 May 1942 shown on the 34 Squadron ORB for his crash in Tiger Moth A17-469. This Casualty Notification shows that he was slightly injured with slight abrasions to the face as a result of an aircraft accident and he was admitted to the US Army Headquarters (presumably a hospital).
