FORCED LANDING OF P-40E
KITTYHAWK
ON BEACH AT ANSON BAY, NT
ON 25 AUGUST 1942
On 25 August 1942, P-40E Kittyhawk A29-?? of 77 Squadron RAAF, piloted by Pilot Officer H. V. Shearn (402992) made a forced landing on a beach at Anson Bay in the Northern Territory as a result of the pilot being unable to orientate his position, being unfamiliar with the country. He was lost! There was no damage to the aircraft or the pilot.
Can anyone help me with more information on this crash?
