The Brisbane Exhibition Leave and Transit Depot was located in the Brisbane Exhibition Grounds at Bowen Hills in Brisbane, Queensland. The Annual Brisbane Show or the "Ekka" as it is known, is held there every year in August. The following military units were located at the Brisbane Exhibition Leave and Transit Depot during WWII:-

Viv Daddow QX28775 told me that he joined the AIF at the Exhibition Grounds on 20th January 1942. The next day he went to Redbank and was issued with a worn out rifle, a Boer War bayonet and 10 rounds of ammunition.

Terry Sullivan told me that as a 17 year old, he signed up to join the Army at the Exhibition Grounds in Brisbane on 25 June 1942. He slept on the floor of a building at St. Laurence's College on his first night in the Army.

The Leave and Transit Depot relocated to the former US Army camp, Camp Moorooka on 28 March 1945.
