The Fairfield Hotel was located on Abbott Street, Oonoonba in Townsville just across the railway line from the Oonoonba State School. It is on the corner of Keenan Street, and Abbott Street, Oonoonba.

The Fairfield Hotel was not far from the 13 Australian Army Personnel Staging Camp which was located on the high ground between the Oonoonba State School and the Oonoonba Animal Health Station on the other side of Abbott Street.
