SHELTERS
406 MONTAGUE RD., WEST END
IN AUSTRALIA DURING WWII
The Queensland Ballet, the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Queensland Dance School of Excellence are now housed in the Thomas Dixon Centre at 406 Montague Road, West End which was opened as a shoe factory in 1908.
During WWII air raid shelters were built for Thomas Dixon employees. The Thomas Dixon Centre will have a cafe and the former air raid shelters will be turned into a bar.
