Peter,
I'm wondering if you may be able to help me with some inquiries. Firstly let me say that I am very impressed with the 460 Squadron site. It's the first time I have visited it and I found it very interesting.
My query lies around the death of my Grandfather. He served as a navigator with 460 Squadron at Breighton. His name is on the roll of honour- P/O R.W.Wood. The date of his death is given as October 19th, 1942. I am interested to find out more about the mission he was on at the time, and whether his craft crashed in Europe, or in England. I'm not even sure whether he would've been in Lancs by then.
Do you know of anywhere that I could find some more information about the rest of his crew, the target of his mission, or the serial number, and type of plane he was flying? It would be of great interest to me to find out more about this.
Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.
You can reach me at -
Yours sincerely
Ashley Wood.
