BUSSELTON RAAF W/T TRANSMITTING STATION
BUSSELTON, WA
IN AUSTRALIA DURING WWII

The RAAF Wireless/Telegraphy Transmitting Station was located approximately 1 miles west of the Busselton Airfield on the southern side of Rendezvous Road near the intersection with Peppermint Way. It is not clear if this was in an ordinary building or a reinforced concrete bunker. There are no signs of it being visible on Google Earth.

The National Archives of Australia plan below shows two 150 feet self supporting towers at either end of the Transmitting Building and five 70 foot masts located to the south of the building forming a heptagon shape, plus an extra 70 foot mast slightly north of the centre of the heptagon. It also shows the Transmitter Hall and the Power House.

Plan:- NAA

Plan of the RAAF Busselton W/T Transmitting Station.

The Busselton RAAF W/T Remote Receiving Station bunker was located approximately 3 kms west of the Busselton RAAF Transmitting Station.

Other RAAF facilities in the Busselton area were 33 Radar Site RAAF located approximately 3.85 kms south of the lighthouse on Cape Naturaliste and an RAAF H/F D/F Station probably located somewhere near the Busselton airfield.
