In her debut novel, Susan Bardon intertwines a long-upheld wartime secret into a fictional story which explores both the keeping, and the breaking, of secrets against a backdrop of far north Queensland in World War II.

Susan Bardon was born and raised in Mossman, FNQ, and as a newborn lived in a little cottage in Miallo, not far from the site where a bomb was dropped on 31st July 1942. Susan lives with her husband and two daughters in Brisbane, regularly travelling to far north Queensland.
