5 AUST GUARD COMPANY
AT KISSING POINT, TOWNSVILLE
IN AUSTRALIA DURING WWII

 

5 Aust Guard Company was formed at Kissing Point, in Townsville, north Queensland in August 1943 to hold Australian Army soldiers in Townsville who were awaiting a charge or transport to one of the outlying detention barracks. 5 Aust Guard Company continued their role at Kissing Point until the end of WWII.
