My father - Albert Hemming DFC - was a (British) navigator with 460 Squadron. He died about a month ago, and I have brief notes he made for me after reading Max Hasting's book on Bomber Command a few years ago. He left me a list of operations he remembered, but it is not comprehensive. His pilot for all his operations was W Bateman. Is there any way of finding out definitively which operations he went on?

Peter - Many thanks for the reply.

What I was interested in was whether there is any way of finding out which specific operations he flew on. He positively remembered about 22, but his memory was hazy for the others. Would it be in any Squadron History? I tried emailing the address on the 460 web site given as a contact for the new edition of 'Strike and Return', hoping I could order a copy, but the message was undeliverable.

Might there a be a list linking crews to particular operations in the book 'G for George'?
