162ND ORDNANCE PLATOON
2ND ENGINEER AMPHIBIAN BRIGADE

The 162nd Ordnance Platoon and the 362nd Quartermaster Battalion of the 2nd Engineer Amphibian Brigade left San Francisco on 13 February 1943. They arrived in Brisbane on 8 March 1943.
On 11 March 1943, both units left Brisbane by train for Rockhampton in central Queensland.
On 4 July 1943, the 162nd Ordnance Platoon was redesignated as the 162nd Ordnance Maintenance Company.
The 162nd Ordnance Company left Cairns by ship on 14 August 1943, in company with the 287th Signal Company headed for Oro Bay in New Guinea.
