CRASH OF A BRISTOL BEAUFORT
AT SEA IN THE BAIRNSDALE AREA
ON 2 OCTOBER 1942
RAAF Mark V Bristol Beaufort, A9-49 (RAF Serial No. T9601), was lost at sea during a reconnaissance flight in the Bairnsdale area.
The crew were all killed as follows:-
Sgt. P.K. Crombie (Pilot)
Sgt. P. Cribb
Sgt. B.J. Morrow
Sgt. A.J. Carl
This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in May 1942. It was "not taken up".
