ON 18 MAY 1942
RAAF Bristol Beaufort, Mark V, A9-3 (RAF Serial No. T9542), crash landed in a paddock alongside Kilmany rubbish dump on 18 May 1942 when the fuel in the port wing exploded and caught fire. The pilot of this aircraft was Flying Officer Brian "Black Jack" Walker.
This aircraft was delivered to the RAAF in December 1941. It was then converted to components.
I'd like to thank Rick Hanning for his assistance with the above information.
