CRASH OF A VENTURA
AT LAVERTON, VIC
ON 30 APRIL 1945

 

RAAF Ventura, A59-90, ex Bu. 49440, c/n 6256, was damaged when its undercarriage collapsed on takeoff at Laverton in Victoria on 30 April 1945.

This aircraft was received into the RAAF at 2AD on 12 May 1944. It did not serve in any RAAF Squadron. On 13 April 1948, it was made available to D.C.A. on free issue for training purposes. On 15 October 1948 it left Laverton on a road transport together with A59-63). The aircraft was "struck off charge" on 10 November 1948.
