CRASH OF A DOUGLAS RA-20A-1
AT CHARTERS TOWERS, QLD ON 28 JULY 1942
Douglas RA-20A-1 Boston, #40-3161 of the 3rd Bomb Group based at Charters Towers airfield, Queensland crashed when its nose wheel collapsed at Charters Towers airfield on 28 July 1942. The aircraft had been assigned to the 3rd Bomb Group on 17 June 1942.
I'd like to thank Gordon Birkett for his assistance with this home page in sending me the Guild diary which was provided to him by my mate Bill Swain. The Guild diary was the main reference for details of this crash.
Can anyone help me with more information on this crash?
