The Australian Army Canteen Service (AACS) operated a Wet canteen in Blackwood Street, Townsville during WW2. The Wet Canteen was located between Flinders Street and Sturt Street. It was located near the Newmarket Hotel.

Blackwood Street in 1906 with Newmarket Hotel on the corner opposite the Great Northern Hotel. I wonder
if the shed to the left of the Newmarket Hotel is the same building that the Wet Canteen was located in?
