FAIREY BATTLE IN THE R.A.A.F.
By John Lever
This excellent book covers a wealth of information about the Fairey Battle and the role that it played in Australia during WW2. It was used in training and target towing roles by the various Bombing and Gunnery Schools across Australia and the Air Gunnery School at West Sale.
It also covers the history of the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) in Australia during WW2. The book concentrates on the training of RAAF Observers, Navigators, Wireless Operator-Air Gunners and air Gunners who trained at the three RAAF Bombing and Gunnery Schools formed for the EATS and the role of the Fairey Battle in particular as a training aircraft.
