CRASH OF A BRISTOL BEAUFORT
AT AN UNKNOWN LOCATION IN VICTORIA

Bristol Beaufort
On 22 July 1943, RAAF Mark VA Bristol Beaufort A9-158 of 1 OTU throttled back and landed with its wheels up at East Sale in Victoria after the port tyre burst on take-off. The crew of this aircraft were as follows:-
F/Lt. R.M. Green
F/Lt. N.T. Badger
F/Sgt. H.R. Stockley (he was killed during this crash)
This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in November 1942. The aircraft was authorised for writeoff in May 1946 and was struck off charge in August 1949.
