CRASH OF A BRISTOL BEAUFORT
AT AN UNKNOWN LOCATION IN VICTORIA
ON 3 SEPTEMBER 1945

Bristol Beaufort

 

RAAF Mark VII Bristol Beaufort A9-145 was caught in a cross-wind while landing at an unknown location in Victoria (possibly Bairnsdale or East Sale) on 3 September 1945. It landed heavily and twisted the airframe. The crew of this aircraft were as follows:-

F/O A.S. Christie
F/O R. Brown
Sgt. N.L. Harris

This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in October 1942. This aircraft was authorised for write-off in May 1946 and was struck off charge in August 1949.
