CRASH OF A BRISTOL BEAUFORT
AT EAST SALE IN VICTORIA

Bristol Beaufort
RAAF Mark VII Bristol Beaufort A9-94 ex 5AD, ground looped at East Sale in Victoria (possibly Bairnsdale or East Sale) on 10 August 1943, when the port undercarriage failed to lower on landing. The crew of the aircraft were F/O R.J. Penny-Cuick and F/Sgt. W.M. Potts.
This aircraft was originally delivered to the RAAF in August 1942. It was authorised for writeoff in May 1946 and was eventually struck off charge in August 1949.
