ONE ACCIDENT AT EAST SALE AIRFIELD, VIC
ON 12 JULY 1943
THE OTHER AT FORGE CREEK, 2 MILES WEST OF EAGLE POINT
ON 16 SEPTEMBER 1944

Bristol Beaufort

 

RAAF Bristol Beaufort, Mark V, A9-7 (RAF Serial No. T9546), swerved and ground looped on take-off from East Sale airfield on 12 July 1943. The pilot during this accident was Sgt. J.R.P Medwell.

The same Beaufort then crashed during low level formation flying at Forge Creek, 2 miles west of Eagle Point after a flight from Sale on 16 September 1944.

This aircraft was delivered to the RAAF in December 1941. It was converted to components after the crash.
