"USAT HOLBROOK" SABOTAGED
NEAR BRISBANE DURING WW2

Secret files released in the early 1990's revealed that the United States Army Transport ship "USAT Holbrook" was sabotaged in February 1942. Its steering gear was tampered with, causing it to almost run aground somewhere near Brisbane.
