CRASH OF A KITTYHAWK
AT MILDURA AIRFIELD
ON 25 FEBRUARY 1944

Kittyhawk A29-45 of No. 2 Operational Training Unit (2OTU), piloted by Sgt. W.J. Ryan (437477) made a crash landing at Mildura airfield at 1115 hours on 25 February 1944. The pilot was not injured.
The Aircraft Accident Data report described the incident as follows:-
"The port u/c collapsed after landing, leg folding back gradually. Probable previous heavy landing."
Kittyhawk A29-45 was involved in an earlier crash near Mildura on 16 August 1943.
