On 11 May 1943, RAAF Avro Anson AX425 from GRS ( General Reconnaissance School) Bairnsdale made a forced landing at Lakes Entrance in Victoria. The pilot was Pilot Officer D. Strachan.
22 Repair and Salvage Unit RAAF were sent from Werribee to salvage the Anson. This was the first salvage operation for the newly formed group. The salvage party was led by Flight Lieutenant Coles.
Can anyone help me with more information on this crash?
