FORCED LANDING OF A KITTYHAWK
AT LAVERTON, VIC
ON 20 MARCH 1942
P-40 Kittyhawk
On 20 March 1942, P-40E Kittyhawk A29-33 (#41-5518) piloted by F/O Grant made a forced landing at Laverton in Victoria on 20 March 1942. A broken control cable to the elevators had been the cause of that accident.
The same aircraft made a belly landing at Rockhampton during a ferry flight from Archerfield to Port Moresby on 16 April 1942.
Can anyone help me with more information on this crash?
