FORCED LANDING OF AN AVRO ANSON
ON BEACH ON SNAKE ISLAND, VIC

On 18 June 1945 Avro Anson W1991 of the RAAF General Reconnaissance School Bairnsdale (GRS) made a forced landing on the beach on the southern tip of Snake Island, Victoria.
The crew of Anson W1991 were as follows:-
Sgt. Ronald William Duggan,
F/Lt Clive Hadley
F/Lt Norman Alan Jobson
F/Lt C.H. Moeser
The Flight Log Book for Flight Sergeant Harold Percival Tunn (442564) shows the following entry:-
19 June 1945
Aircraft Type/No. - Avro Anson MG 843
Pilot - Self
2nd Pilot, pupil or passenger - F/S Pummeroy plus Sgt Leone
Duty - Search for missing a/c. Located on beach Snake Is.
