CRASH OF A FAIREY BATTLE
2 MILES NW OF LAKES ENTRANCE, VIC
ON 1 SEPTEMBER 1942

Fairey Battle L5644 of No. 1 O.T.U. East Sale force landed on a hill about 2 miles N.W. of Lakes Entrance, Victoria on 1 September 1942 after engine failure. The fuselage was broken between the rear cockpit and the tail.

The pilot, Sgt. John W. McKenzie (405881), was slightly injured.
