CRASH OF A RYAN TRAINER
NEAR WEST SALE, VIC
ON 18 MAY 1944
On the 18th May 1944, Ryan Trainer A50-12 from Air Gunnery School (AGS), West Sale, crashed after a structural defect near West Sale airfield. The pilot F/Sgt. C. Gumbley parachuted to safety while the passenger Cpl. C.H. Keys (12921) was killed.
