Kittyhawk

F/Sgt Malcolm John Russell (442507), aged 22 years, of No. 2 Operational Training Unit (2 OTU) Mildura, crashed P-40 Kittyhawk, A29-130, during a night-time take-off from the Mildura airfield on 7 August 1945.

Apparently it was reported that F/Sgt Russell had said to his ground crew just before he took off "This is the last  time you will see me."
