CRASH OF A BEAUFORT
AT EAST SALE, VICTORIA
ON 2 APRIL 1944

RAAF Bristol Beaufort, A9-543 crashed
at East Sale, Victoria on 2 April 1944.
The pilot was F/O L.M. Marks who was on his first solo (night) practice. He made a heavy landing resulting in the collapsing of the the starboard undercarriage. The other crew member was F/O D.H, Gurney. Both were uninjured. The accident was put down as lack of experience on the Beaufort aircraft, and poor technique.
