CRASH OF A WIRRAWAY
17 MILES FROM MILDURA, VIC
ON 6 JANUARY 1943

On 6 January 1943, an RAAF Wirraway from No. 2 Operational Training Unit (2 OTU) based at Mildura, crashed 17 miles from Mildura in Victoria. Both crew members were killed as follows:-

Flying Officer V.F. Curtis (400039)    24 years old
Sergeant W.G. Simkins (420502)      19 years old
