CRASH OF A KITTYHAWK
AT YARRARA, VIC
ON 13 APRIL 1943
On 13 April 1943, RAAF Kittyhawk A29-119, of No. 2 Operational Training Unit (2 OTU) based at Mildura, VIC, crashed at Yarrara, VIC killing the pilot, 23 year old Sgt. Frank Howard Ellis (417167).
Sgt Ellis was part of a flight of aircraft doing formation flying when he disappeared. In the same flight a short time later Sgt Robert Harry Overmyer in Kittyhawk A29-173 collided with Sgt R.R. Munro in A29-181.
