CRASH OF A HAWKER DEMON
NEAR DUTSON BOMBING & GUNNERY RANGE, VIC
ON 7 JULY 1942

On 7 July 1942, RAAF Hawker Demon A1-27 from No. 3 Bombing & Gunnery School, attempted a forced landing. The aircraft was destroyed by fire after engine failure near Dutson Bombing & Gunnery Range. The pilot Sgt. K.A.Bates was killed and LAC A.F.Hehir was seriously injured.
